Get Ready for the all new revved up Summer Library Program ‘Dig into Reading!’ at the Library from through July 31!
All ages are invited to join in the fun! Children ages 1 – 5 will receive a Early Literacy Chart filled with fun activities! Children, teens and adults are to keep track of how many days spent time reading or listening to books, magazines, audiobooks or ebooks! We would like you to read at least 20 minutes each day!
The library will be hosting a variety of special events throughout the summer and there will be special prize drawings for all registered participants.
The Library is the place to be this summer! So get ready to Dig Into Reading and discover some Groundbreaking Reads!

Story-Time for children ages 1 through 5 will be held on every Thursday at 10 a.m. through July 25 at the Lakeview Community Library in Random Lake. Each program features story sharing, songs, finger plays and craft project with Miss Tammy or Miss Lorie!
Programs featured are: June 20: Dig it, Build it, Go! June 27: A Stuffed Animal Sleepover! Bring a stuffed animal (one that you won’t need that night) – so it can party all night with the Children’s Room staff! On Tuesday July 2 pick your animal up and see the crazy antics they got into at the sleepover! July 11: Who Lives Underground? July 18: Diggin’ Up Dinosaurs; and July 25: Muddy Messes & Squirmy Worms!
A parent or caregiver is asked to accompany children under the age of three. Siblings are always welcome!

Young ladies ages 10 – 18 are invited to a Spa Day at the Library on from 2:00 – 3:30pm. Participants can get a mini glamour make-over including makeup, hairstyle and nails! Everyone will also make homemade bath salts to take home! Registration is a must – reserve your spot by 6/18.

As part of the ‘Dig Into Reading’ summer library program, this Brookfield acting & story-telling troupe will present ‘Scavenger Hunt USA’ – A teacher wins a cross-country scavenger hunt with the help of a magic library card & children’s literature characters! All ages are welcome to join in the fun at this FREE program!

from 2 – 3:30 p.m. Boys ages 5 – 12 are invited to get their game on and join in a ton of game related fun!
Play live action versions of Angry Birds®, Pokemon ”Gotta Catch ‘Em All” Hunt, Mario Obstacle Course and more! Power up with a snack and construct glider planes to fly from the balcony and compete to see whose plane goes the farthest.
Participants must register by 5 p.m. on Monday July 8.

at 6:30 p.m. enjoy the music of Polka Potion with toe-tapping polkas & waltzes! Concert will be held on the main floor of the library. Beverages & yummy ice cream sundaes will be available…..Underwriting for concert is provided by the Friends of the Library Arts Support Fund.

For ages 11 – 18 (grades 5-12) We will be forming teams at the library to go out scavenging for items at downtown businesses. A list of businesses and items to collect will be provided. Once your team has returned with all your items you will begin the Zombie party! Enjoy snacks for the walking dead, use our make up to design your own zombie look. Join the Zombie Battle with nerf weapons! MUST REGISTER by 5pm July 10th Parent signed permission slip required!!!

Come and spend some time at the movies on at the Library! The film Amission (rated PG-13) starring Tina Fey, Paul Rudd and Lily Tomlin will be shown at 1 p.m. At 5 p.m. the film Warm Bodies (rated PG-13) will be featured!
